Why people hate DI:
DI gets publicly denounced for hosting games with "stacked teams" Dead MG started the accusations on the GPGnet forums and players continue to add their thoughts. Death Incarnate will not be lowered to flaming or unfounded rhetorical remarks. Public dislike towards DI has been around since the beginning of the game. The Founding reason that players started to bash Death Incarnate was when they held the #1 clan slot. This was of course back in the day when clan rating was determined by activity of members inside of ranked games and custom games.
Activity of members was the #1 determination for rating while victory was a close second. The Top ten rating (which now determines all but 300 points of the rating) was just another measurement not determining from rating. DI not only held the top position above the clans, it held it with 7000 rating points to spare. No one could touch us. Even the Autobots (founded by Unconquerable) whose mandate was to gather as many people together with his #1 rank position. just to challenge DI by sheer force. the Auto bots soon outnumbered DI but the members were all below average, recruited without screening. Some say that Death Incarnate ruined the clan system, and I say that it is true. the dislike of Death Incarnate and the unbudgeable #1 slot made the admins revise the ranking system twice. The first revision was a Disastrous cave in for GPGnet.
The admins lowered the Death Incarnate rating to just above the competition. This was fine, DI would come back and out run the competition by miles. But no, the GPGnet cave was deep. Death Incarnate held the same, predetermined rating for the next 7 months. It never budged. Some members even lost TONS of ranked games deliberately to make the score budge. The DI rating stayed the same. Second revision (what we have now) was another cave to the top players of Sup Com. The current rating system is the Top Ten Rating + a possible 300 for activity and everyone else in the clan. a clan can consist of 10 players and be among the top. AKC is a perfect example of this. Govt Cheese is a top 10 player, he has no life, and has purchased multiple copies of the game called smurfs. He is 30% of the top ten ladder and is the majority of the reason why AKC is the #1 clan.
The very fact that one player decides where the clan's position is does not make sense. So going back to why people Hate DI, we were given the proper crown of the best clan (by far) and people never forgave DI. Some people just never give up past grudges. current bashing of DI

DO NOT drop to their level and flame back. If someone quotes you on something and tries to flame you then take a minute to think about it, this may just show that they are a complete idiot rather then you making a post saying that they are. actions are more powerful then words

OCTOBER 21, SAN FRANCISCO – LucasArts and BioWare™, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), today announced the development of Star Wars®: The Old Republic™, a story-driven massively multiplayer online PC game set in the timeframe of the Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic™ franchise. Star Wars: The Old Republic, being developed and published by BioWare and LucasArts, represents an innovative approach to interactive entertainment, featuring immersive storytelling, dynamic combat and intelligent companion characters.
In Star Wars: The Old Republic, players will explore an age thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when war between the Old Republic and the Sith Empire divides the galaxy. Players can choose to play as Jedi, Sith, or a variety of other classic Star Wars roles, defining their personal story and determining their path down the light or dark side of the Force. Along the way, players will befriend courageous companions who will fight at their side or possibly betray them, based on the players’ actions. Players can also choose to team up with friends to battle enemies and overcome incredible challenges using dynamic Star Wars combat.
"Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is the most critically acclaimed Star Wars game in LucasArts history and a preeminent example of our company’s interactive storytelling heritage," said Darrell Rodriguez, President of LucasArts. "For a long time, we’ve long wanted to return to the franchise in a grand way, and we felt that the best setting for it was an online world that would allow millions of people to participate in the experience together. We knew that the developer capable of working with us to deliver an engrossing story with a fully-realized online world was BioWare."
"Traditionally, massively multiplayer online games have been about three basic gameplay pillars - combat, exploration and character progression," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, Co-Founder and General Manager/CEO of BioWare and General Manager/Vice President of Electronic Arts Inc., "In Star Wars: The Old Republic, we’re fusing BioWare’s heritage of critically-acclaimed storytelling with the amazing pedigree of Lucasfilm and LucasArts, and adding a brand-new fourth pillar to the equation – story. At the same time, we will still deliver all the fun features and activities that fans have come to expect in a AAA massively multiplayer online game. To top it all off, Star Wars: The Old Republic is set in a very exciting, dynamic period in the Star Wars universe."
Added Dr. Greg Zeschuk, Co-Founder and Vice President Development Operations, BioWare and Vice President, Electronic Arts Inc., "Star Wars: The Old Republic is set roughly 300 years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic, a timeframe that is completely unexplored in the lore. BioWare has been able to add to the Star Wars history in developing the game’s story and has created an overarching narrative that players can enjoy, regardless of their play style. Our goal is to offer players an emotionally rewarding experience that combines the traditional elements of MMO gameplay with innovations in story and character development."

Powa and I have been discussing the Dark Reign storyline, as he continued it with his missions; Frontier and A Final Threat, and as a result of such I have come to some conclusions about the Dark Reign story line, and I would like your thoughts on this, and where we should head from here.
I love storylines, my whole life revolves around stories. I love the twists and turns, and the way everything usually pieces together, or the way in which it doesn't, and then you have to figure it out yourself, so that being said, this is very important to me. When I was young, I would read and reread the Dark Reign story again and again, I lived and breathed it, Dark Reign was my life.

[ Read the rest ... ] | | | Player Progression | | | It’s best to picture an inverted triangle. You begin the game with broad skills available to you – the wide part of the triangle – and as you progress in rank, the skills you select become more specialized as the triangle narrows to a point.
There will be six ranks through which to progress at launch:
* Ensign (this is the rank you play in the Tutorial – you are rapidly promoted within the first couple hours of gameplay) * Lieutenant * Lieutenant Commander * Commander * Captain * Admiral
Star Trek Online is a skill-based game, meaning the experience you receive for completing missions and finishing episodes awards you skill points, which you use to directly improve the skills available to you. There are a set number of skills available to you, depending on your rank. For instance, there’s a group of broad skills available at the Lieutenant rank; when you reach Lieutenant Commander, more refined skills become available to you.
The skills available in the early game provide blanket bonuses to the items and abilities you use, and more refined skills will provide more specific bonuses to items and abilities. Again, think of that inverted triangle.
For example, an Engineering officer has the option at lower ranks to decide between focusing on Maintenance or Modification. (He could also generalize in both, if he were to choose to do so.) Let’s say he decided to work exclusively on Modification, and maxes his Lieutenant Modification skill. When he becomes a Lieutenant Commander, new, more refined skills will become available in both the Modification and Maintenance categories. He then could switch his focus to Maintenance if he wanted, and the bonuses from his Lieutenant Modification skills would still apply for the remainder of the character’s existence. By the time the officer reaches the rank of Commander, he can choose to spend his skill points by specializing in any of three branches in his Engineering career.

All of a character’s skills influence his potency with his career abilities, as well as his equipped Kit (which grants additional abilities suited to a particular specialty of their chosen career). A character will collect several Kits as they advance in rank, allowing their role or "spec" to change by equipping the Kit that contains the abilities they currently need for the mission.
In order to advance in rank, you’ll need to spend a specific number of skill points in your currently available skills. To advance from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander, you’ll need to have invested a certain number of skill points before you’re offered a promotion. Were a player to invest the minimum-required skill points to reach Admiral, he’d be about half-developed in relation to a maxed character. It will take significantly longer to completely max out each available skill.
The skill sets in the game fall into two major categories: Space and Ground.
Space skills are generally broader than ground skills. They’re designed to augment your Bridge Officers’ abilities, as well as your own. Therefore, even if you’re a Tactical officer, you can take Engineering skills, which will help your Engineering Bridge Officers become more effective. This has a lot of influence on the way your ships behave. If you’re a Tactical officer flying an Escort ship, which usually doesn’t offer much in the way of Engineering bridge stations, having a lot of skill points invested in Engineering could significantly improve your Engineer’s performance, even though the ship has limited capabilities in that area.
The skill points you invest in space also determine which ships you can fly. You’ll need to have invested skill points in the Heavy Cruiser skill to be able to fly a second-tier Cruiser, for example. Certain skills also increase different items’ performance, so if you increase your Phaser Cannon skill, Phaser Cannons will be more effective in combat.

Your Bridge Officers gain experience similarly to your Captain. While their skills are far more limited than the captain’s, they advance through rank in the same manner. Once you spend enough skill points in a certain rank, Bridge Officers can be promoted to a higher rank, though they must remain at least a rank below you at all times. If your Captain is a Lieutenant Commander, his Bridge Officers can only be Ensigns or Lieutenants.
As you progress through the game, you accrue skill points to assign to your Bridge Officers. Those points enter a pool, which you can then assign to any Bridge Officer in your possession. Bridge Officers don’t need to go on specific missions with you to gain experience; this allows you more freedom to determine how you want your Officers to advance and doesn’t penalize you for wanting to draw from a larger group of Officers in your employ.
Since Bridge Officers can have unique skills, they may be more complementary to one Captain’s play style than another’s. As such, you may transfer Bridge Officers to other players in exchange for their Officers or other goods and services.
